Aisling Bea

Aisling B a was born 16 March 1984 in Kildare Ireland. She has appeared on QI alongside Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984) is better known by her stage name Aisling Bea is an Irish actress writer and comedian. Bea began her stand-up comedy career in 2011, after appearing in small parts on several Irish television shows and British series from 2009. After 2012 she had been performing in sketch comedy shows, sitcoms, and other similar programs. The actress began to appear regularly in panel shows following her win of an award for in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Between 2016 and 2017, she was a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats' team, as well as a participant in the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. Born in the family of Brian O'Sullivan and his wife, she was blessed with one sister named Sinead. She was in 2012 the second woman to ever be awarded the So You Believe You're Funny award. Bea was presented with the award to commemorate her father's passing. Aisling Cliodhnadh, born April 16, 1984, in Kildare Town, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet, who was killed after Bea turned three was the suicide victim. Bea was informed of his passing at the age of thirteen. In 2017 she wrote an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's relatives and she adopted the stage name Bea in remembrance of him. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) was raised in the same home as Helen Moloney, a teacher and jockey trainer who was a professional jockey. The family was obsessed with horses and race meetings. When she was a child, Bea worked as an instructor at the Irish National Stud however she knew from a young age that she wasn't interested in the racing industry as a job, and enjoyed performing.
